Christmas in Helen

We had a great time viewing the glorious lights in Helen. They were amazing. Santa came to visit and we all had a great time walking the streets of Helen.
Entering Alpine Helen, Ga. To see Santa and the lights.
We even got to ride on Santa's Sleigh.
The lighting of the tree is a favorite town event. We too enjoyed it!
Brighton and Abbie were a little freaked out. Santa was so sweet, and with a candy cane they sure warmed up to him.

Visit to Jason & Rachel's in Georgia

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Jason and Rachel for Thanksgiving. They live in Athens, Georgia with their two darling girls Brighton and Abbie. We rented condo in a small Swiss town in Northern Georgia called Helen during the week of Thanksgiving. We had a lot of fun hiking, eating, and spending time with our great grand children. Unfortunately, we caught a dirty southern digestive bug that jumped from Dick to me. It really took its toll on us, but we feeling better now. The girls had a lot of fun shopping, and the Dick and Jason had fun going to the University of Georgia football game, GO DAWGS!
While in Helen we visited Baby Land, the birth place to all Cabbage Patch Dolls. We even were able to see one doll be born. Around Helen, there were a lot of amazing waterfalls. Tallulah Gorge State Park, Duke Cliff Falls, and Anna Ruby Falls were some of the places we hiked to. The girls were delighted to see Santa Clause the day after Thanksgiving when the town of Helen came alive with Christmas lights. The best part was meeting Santa Clause.
It was good to see the Whitings.

Grandpa having fun!
